Welcome!
Let's be funky, get down and dirty. Let's talk ... trash! Many things people throw away can do the same job as the products you pay for in the store. So you can not only save money, but use less plastic. That's good for our health (see Food Storage) and our world (see globe, above).By pooling our ideas, we can come up with better ways to do ... anything. It's more fun to think of new ways to do things than to keep doing them the same old way.
Of course, thinking of new ways to do things is more fun than doing household chores, anyway. Here are some different ways to do chores -- check off whether you think it's one of the best, or the worst tips and let me know about your tips and tricks.

Keep bananas fresh, not brown, for weeks in the freezer. Great for smoothiies! Cut large, just ripe banana in half, peel and wrap tightly in aluminum foil. The aluminum can seal the banana like a peel, keeping air from causing browning.
Collect wrapped bananas in the freezer in a plastic bag or container, if you like. When ready to use, let it warm slightly to unstick the foil before unwrappikng.
